Transformer station re-branding

Branding / Print Design

Transformer Station is a modern art exhibit area. Deliverables for the project are a new logo, wayfinding signs for the building, posters, promotional postcard, brand style guide, and a visual concept for a user mobile app.

The new primary logotype has a stylized electrical symbol to reference to the building’s original function. The four squares at the left edge are references to the facility’s owner, the Cleveland Museum of Art. The secondary logo for when size constraints are an issue is an abbreviation of the building’s name which features the electrical symbol more pronounced.

Transformer Station primarily uses the Univers CE Family typefaces for most scenarios. Universe’s clear, objective forms compliment the organization’s goal of showcasing modern art by being unobtrusive and letting the works it features take audiences’ attention.

Colors are cool, modern and neutral ones which reference the organization’s function as a modern art exhibit space.

Some museums have mobile apps to augment visitor experiences with things like maps and more details about the exhibits on-demand. The conceptual app provides these two features to visitors.
