A short commercial for the fictional beverage Stinger Aid, which originated from a humorous remark made by a Baldwin-Wallace football coach after a game loss. This concept has since inspired the development of an intricate backstory for Stinger Aid, positioning it as a successful electrolyte sports drink within its fictional universe.
The project progressed in three parts; First, conceptualization and script development. Collaboration with team members – Michael Halligan, Owen Tafe, and Simon Jones to brainstorm and refine the narrative, ensuring it aligns with the brand’s identity. Location scouting and planning conducted thorough analysis and observation of potential filming locations to enhance visual storytelling. And finally, production in which the commercial was directed, filmed, and edited, focusing on creating a dynamic visual experience that resonates with the target audience.
The commercial’s design and aesthetic choices draw heavily from existing sports drink advertisements, emphasizing minimal dialogue and prioritizing a narrative that highlights athletes utilizing Stinger Aid. This approach aims to convey both the product’s benefits and its appeal to sports enthusiasts.
